This paper analyze basic circumstances that social organizations participate in grassroots governance which has four types：Shanghai life services，commonweal and charity，cultural and sports，special investigation and handling of social conflicts. It summarized various social organization’s work mechanism and remarkable achievements in the promotion of grassroots governance，at the same time，it also analysis the outstanding problems which exist in the development，finally profound social organization working mechanisms and promote innovative social management work thinking.
