This study reviews on the general characteristics of Chinese data journalism，and analysis descriptively on literature quantity，academic background，authors’ background，the source of journals，keywords as point of view，which focus on fundamental research，localization and abroad practice studies，researching on personnel training and data journalism education and problems on data journalism. On this basis，the study discusses the development of data journalism research. This study suggests that construction of news theory system，localization research and actual application in different types of news based on data，training on new type of professional talents will be the future emphasis of data journalism research in China，what’s more，the research perspective of data journalism and visualization research should be more diverse.
