The oil and gas equipment manufacturing industry is an important part of the manufacturing industry in our country，which plays an important role on the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure in our country. Sichuan is an important base for oil and gas equipment manufacturing industry in China，it becomes a strategic problem to carry out technical innovation，innovation-driven mode for sustainable development under new situation. However，the development of enterprises’ innovation cannot sustains without existing arrangement of intellectual property system and their own intellectual property rights strategic management. This article analyses intellectual property strategyic environment and strategic choices by using SWOT methodology，from the perspective of environment of intellectual property of Sichuan’s oil and gas equipment manufacturing industry.
