In this paper，the overall downturn in the car industry，Sichuan automobile industry growth rate was frustrated，especially in the second half of this year，Sichuan’s auto industry has a more obvious turning point. Sichuan automobile industry still faces many problems and contradictions，such as：lack of overall planning and cooperation；the existence of the phenomenon of vehicle products is outstanding；too much policy support in Sichuan’s automobile industry is lack of development potential，continued poor；location/channel problem makes it lack of sustainable strength. The author points out that 2016 will be a critical year for the development of the automotive industry in Sichuan，Sichuan automotive industry growth will slow down，but in the country’s ranking is still likely to continue to improve，but the restructuring of the auto industry will be strengthened，and new energy vehicles will be the focus in Sichuan’s auto industry，and they have a wider space for development. In the meanwhile，we should pay attention to and encourage the improvement of self-innovative ability of local automobile industry.
