Industry is the foundation of national economy. As one of China’s largest industrial provinces，Guangdong is implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development to speed up the structure adjustment and transformation and upgrading of industry. This paper develops an evaluation index system of “industrial innovation-driven development” concerning aspects of innovation environment，innovation capability，and innovation performance. Using the index system，it describes the situation of industrial innovation-driven development in China and analyses Guangdong’s “position” and “short-board” by comparing with advanced provinces and municipalities. It especially focuses on Guangdong industrial enterprises and describes their development trend in recent years. Finally，it proposes some strategic thinking and policy suggestion on accelerating innovation-driven development of Guangdong industry. <<
