As to the transition of primary school graduates to junior high schools, the competitive selections mainly leaded by Mathematical Olympiad continued to spread in 2012. For the transition aim, families in Shanghai and several other capital cities prefer private schools, but competitions in Beijing concentrate in the public schools. In order to stop the troubled phenomenon of Mathematical Olympiad selection, local governments have actualized series of activities. However, Mathematical Olympiad training has repeated after face lifting and directly challenged the credibility of government. Face to the issues of school choices and balanced development of compulsory education, governments and the administrative departments of education should not be "lazy", and need to deal with the practical problems by feasible policies. <<
