Urban areas are hot spot in adapting to climate change. Some global cities have launched adaptation strategies and adaptation planning to improve resilience to climate change risk. There have many international experiences can be learned by decision makers in Chinese cities. This article introduced some cases of American cities in policy making and action of adaptation to climate change，especially in the collaborative governance of multi-risks，different sectors and stakeholders.
