In late 19th century and early 20th century,the mass media gradually grew up. At the same time,women's suffrage movement was rising,and the wars of imperialist re-dividing the world started,with the outbreak of the Anglo-Boer War,the Spanish-American War and the Russo-Japanese War as a prelude. This paper attempts to trace the Western newspapers coverage related to women and gender in the Anglo-Boer War,Spanish-American War;to compare those with the situation of Afghanistan War and Iraqi War broken after 100 years;to analyze the continuity and change of history,and how gender,war and peace discourse was interacted as well as it was mutual constructed.
