>The large-scale migration from rural to urban areas has comprehensive and complex impacts on China’s economic and social development. This paper reviews the literature on the effects of migration on China’s rural economy. The following points are mainly answered in the paper：（1）remittance of migrants and its effects on peasants’ income，（2）return migration and its determinants，and（3）the role of migration on rural economy and agricultural productivity.
