With the improvement of female education,the perception of “Boy Crisis” becomes more and more popular. This article firstly uses content analysis and bases on the data of CNND (China Core Newspapers Full-text Database)in the period 2008-2012,describing the presentation of “Boy Crisis”. Secondly,by using the semiotics theory of Roland Barthes,the article attempts to explore the representation of it. It is proved that,the production of media discourses concerning “Boy Crisis” consists of two semiotic systems:Connotation and Denotation. In denotation system,the changes in boys’ learning and masculinity were represented to the term “Boy Crisis”,which served as the “signifier” in connotation system. On the other hand,patriarchal ideology was blended in the signified of connotation system,and ultimately construct the myths which boys should be saved.
