在卡梅伦当政的5年间，英国经济成功地走出了2008年国际金融危机的阴影，实现了较为有力的复苏。这也是保守党在2015年5月大选中取胜的主要因素。但英国经济也面临着一些问题，其中尤为突出的就是债务负担沉重、通货紧缩的风险开始显现，贸易逆差居高不下，长期的低利率政策缺乏可持续性以及劳动生产率增长缓慢。
<<In recent years the UK economy has recovered from the negative impact of the 2008 global financial crisis. This is one of the major reasons why the Conservatives won the 2015 general election. At the same time，the UK economy is still faced with such problems as heavy debt burden，the risk of deflation，trade deficit，unsustainability of low interest rate and slow growth of productivity.
