The paper，taking Guangzhou as an example，first analyzes the concept of ecological city construction under the background of China’s “new normal” economy. Then with the combination of analyzing the status quo and the course of ecological planning and construction，it analyzes the advantages and deficiencies in Guangzhou’s ecological construction. In the end，the paper，on the basis of learning foreign cities’ experience，proposes strategies for the ecological construction in urban areas of Guangzhou under the background of China’s “new normal” economy.
