This report analyses in-depth the definition of pharmaceutical price standard system，administration and main contents in Japan，focusing on features of pharmaceutical price standard system. Policy recommendations are proposed based on the analysis：pharmaceutical price administrative agency involving high-level multiple stakeholders，rational pricing mechanism supported by survey，enhancing generic drugs development with appropriate restriction while encouraging innovation.
