In 2014,the ruling New Democratic Party and the Pasok were both defeated in the European parliamentary election and the presidential election. The approval ratings kept climbing up with the radical left-wing coalition(Syriza),the largest opposition party which was against the government’s austerity reform and the troika bailout plan. The radical left-wing coalition recorded a victory in the early general election that took place in January 2015 and formed a coalition government together with the right-wing Independent Greeks,the first one opposing the EU’s austerity policy among the heavily indebted Eurozone countries. The Greek economy had lived out of recession,but growth was still slow and the downside risk lingered on. The social situation in Greece was still full of turbulence and the extreme forces rapidly gained strength during the crisis. In 2014,the China-Greece comprehensive strategic partnership advanced further,with friendly cooperation in various fields expanding continuously.
