General elections were held in April 2014 in Macedonia to elect both the President and members of the parliament,with the ruling coalition led by the VMRO-DPMNE claiming victory. However,the parliamentary members from the opposition boycotted the newly-elected parliament by submitting resignations and demanded a fresh election. Macedonia’s economy grew steadily.However,it relied too heavily on the Euro-zone and the government’s financial condition was not so optimistic. The road of EU accession for Macedonia was full of frustrations. Macedonia hoped to keep a neutral stand between the EU and Russia. The practical cooperation between China and Macedonia developed steadily.
