Albania was granted EU candidate status in July 2014. However,further reforms must be carried on according to the EU’s requirements. A contraction took place in the economic growth rate and the budget deficit expanded in 2014. The Albanian economy is expected to grow faster in the next two years. With regard to its foreign affairs,the Albanian leader made the first visit to Serbia in 68 years,which did not lift the tensions in the bilateral relations due to the Kosovo issue. China-Albania relationship developed smoothly. The two governments reached several investment agreements.
