The current legal education in China faces a problem of mismatch between quality and scale. Graduates with law degrees could not meet the requirements of social and economic development. Under such circumstances，the Ministry of Education and the Central Committee of Politics and Law had decided to implement the Plan for Outstanding Legal Education，which is no doubt necessary and responsive with respect to the nation’s social and economic development strategy as well as higher education’s development needs. Depending on the different roles played by legal educations at different levels and stages，respective educational goals and specialties must be further clarified so that comprehensive reforms can be advanced. Based on the current status of legal education in Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and the specifics of the Plan for Outstanding Legal Education，this article explores and discusses the issue of advancing comprehensive reforms in legal education.
