This paper introduces the concept of natural gas distributed energy resources firstly，and then detailed describes its advantages and significances. In according to “Allocated properly，each gets what he needs，fitting temperature，cascade utilization”，many applying forms of nature gas distributed energy resources can be determined. The paper also describes the current development of distributed energy resources at home and abroad，citing the typical cases and the development policies of domestic distributed energy resources. Finally，the predicaments and solutions of the development of the natural gas distributed energy resource were proposed.
