Frequent drought should be considered for land rearrangement of Yunnan province. The paper discussed the strategy exploration of land rearrangement in Yunnan under the background of drought based on the issue. The priorities of land rearrangement to deal with drought were planning first to prevent drought，departmental coordination to fight against drought and ecological construction to mitigate drought. Finally，three basic type of land rearrangement model，namely ecological rehabilitation in mountain land，conservation of water and soil in mild slope of low mountains and hills and high standard basic farmland construction in basin were introduced.
