Land use regionalization is a strategic measure to rational use，renovation and protection of land resources according to the local condition. This article made the principles of land use regionalization based on data of the second land survey and needs of future rational land use strategic，developed the regionalization index system composed of six aspects，36 specific indicators，and mapped out a new land use regionalization by using the method of fuzzy cluster analysis. In the paper，Yunnan is divided into five regions and seventeen sub-regions in land use. Region I called the middle mountain plateau area in northeast Yunnan；Region II called the plateau area with middle mountain and lake basin in central Yunnan；Region III called the middle and low karst mountain area in southeast Yunnan；Region IV called the alp，plateau and gorge area in northwest Yunnan；Region V called the middle and low mountain basin and valley area in southwest Yunnan. Analysis in the paper shows that the scheme of this land use regionalization accords with the objective reality of yunnan，reflects basically the regional difference rule of land resources and its utilization states in Yunnan province，and so it is reasonable and feasible and can provide a basis for future rational use of land resources and implementing sustainable use stratagem according to the local condition.
