Public transit occupies an important place in city transit system.This article analyzes present development situation of Guangzhou public transit,and then particularly studies the experience and practice of developing public transit in foreign advanced regions or cities.By comparing Guangzhou with these regions and cities,the author recognizes the existence of gap,searches for countermeasures,and then proposes the strategy of "public transit first" in Guangzhou and the objective of constructing "Transit City" which is well-developed and domestic-advanced. <<
