The three cities are located in the southeast of Shanxi and in the northwest of the Central Plains Economic Zone. They are the important part of the Central Plains Economic Zone, which have distinctive regional characteristics. The advantage of Changzhi and Jincheng is their abundant coal resources, both of them are industrial city, while Yuncheng is an agricultural city which also has cultural resources. In 2011, the economy and society of three cities has achieved healthy and sustained development, however, there are still some problems in the process of industrialization and urbanization, such as suboptimal structure, large gap between urban and rural areas, weakness in open economy, etc. In 2012,the three cities should accelerate the pace of structural adjustment, promote urbanization, and narrow the gap between urban and rural areas, and stick to sustainable development without expense of agriculture and ecological environment. <<
