The results of 2011 Chinese Residents' Quality of Life Survey show that, the overall life satisfaction of urban residents remains stable over the year, and they are somewhat confident in their future life. However,we should pay more attention to low income families.Livelihood issues such as slow increase of income, rising prices on necessities, soaring housing price and pension issues have not be substantially addressed.Urban residents feel a high economic pressure that is hard to be relieved, and their consumption confidence only rises in a slow pace. Moreover, urban residents suffer from the declining social morality, which has greatly influenced their sense of security and mutual trust. In addition, the public have a strong perception of corruption and polarization between the rich and the poor. And people at the bottom social hierarchy are unconfident in terms of changing their life through their own efforts. However, they still show increasing confidence in the government and believe that government will find solutions to various social problems.
