City is the main body of regional economic development and competition. It is an important proposition to make the urban development sustainable and healthy. Over the years, cities in the central region have developed rapidly and become prosperous, and they have made important contribution to promoting the economic and social development of the central region. However, behind the high-speed and prosperous appearance, cites of the central region have some urgent problems, for example, the quality of urban development is not high, the development characteristics is extensive, urban diseases are serious, the contradiction between supply and demand of public services is critical, the radiation of urban agglomerations is weak and so on. If these problems can't be properly solved as soon as possible, they will restrict the further development of the cities, and thereby affect the modernization process of the central region. This article studied the problems of the urban development of the central region, and analyzed the causes of the problem. This article pointed out that the solution of these problems was the transformation of urban development mode. Besides, this article put forward general idea and suggestions. <<
