The article defined the basic connotation of culture and science & technology, describing the merging essence of culture and science & technology, as well as its manifestation in the library community. On this basis, it pointed out that development of library is the history that culture and science & technology have merged and mutually promoted, from the perspective of the development course of modern library, library in contemporary age and digital library, and analyzed the four basic characteristics about the emerging of culture and science & technology in library community. Then, three suggestions on how to promote the emerging of culture and science & technology in the innovation development of library field were put forwards to, which involved patrons' information need, key practice and communication among related parties. <<
