The task for Vocational and Technical education （VTE） is to cultivate Macao’s applied talents of various levels. This article reviews the development of Macao VTE and summarised its problems in terms of institutional arrangement，sources of students，infrastructure，qualification of teachers and VTE providers. This article also argues that VTE will be developing under the framework of Talent cultivation long-term mechanism where local VTE institution and government funding will be strengthened and the regional VTE cooperation will be enhanced.
