Gross gaming revenue in Macao experienced a 10-month consecutive fall. Statistics shows that the VIP junkets in casinos were the hardest hit，while revenue from the floor pit actually increased. The reason for the depression of the gaming sector should therefore be examined from the VIP junkets. This article revealed the specific reasons from the perspectives of competitions in credit provisions，legal versus illegal gaming，and international competition.
