Based on statistics from Japan’s Ministry of Finance and China’s Customs Office，JETRO has conducted investigation on Japan-China trade，which shows that bilateral trade increased slightly by 0.2% to 343.7 billion dollars in 2014. There will be several areas worth noting in 2015. Japan’s direct investment to China decreased significantly by 38.8% to 4.3 billion dollars，and a number of factors were behind this. About 50% of Japanese enterprises expressed the willingness to expand sales in 2014，specifically domestic market oriented firms and sectors were more enthusiastic about expanding sales in China，however，the enthusiasm of export oriented firms and sectors reduced because of rising labor cost and RMB appreciation.
