<<The financial crisis has announced the destruction of the old economic framework and the rebalancing of the global economy. Developed countries are deleveraging and restructuring the manufacturing industry as well as the real economy, while the emerging economies are suffering from a slow recovery, exports are hindered and trade protectionism has resurfaced. China,as the largest developing country in the world and a responsible party, should participate actively in rebalancing the global economy. FDI is a form of international capital transfer facilitated by multinational operations, hence it is also an important media of a country’s participation in the global economy rebalancing process. In 2012,China’s FDI reached a historical high of 84 billion US dollars and became the third largest FDI country around the world, which won China the title of the most promising source of FDI. However,China’s FDI targets are mainly located in Asia and centered in low-technology industries such as mining and resources. The right FDI strategies can not only give impetus to the “go global” national strategy, but also put China in a favorable position in terms of the new economic framework.
