To protect Canadian overseas interests and domestic security and maintain the alliance with the United States，in the year 2013 and 2014，the Canadian government published Public Report on the Terrorist Threat to Canada following Canada’s Counter-terrorism Strategy published in the year 2012. The 2013 and 2014 Public Report on the Terrorist Threat to Canada analyzed the current terrorist threat and fundamental principles and established counter-terrorism strategy. Following the United States，Canada upholds “double standard” on the issue of countering terrorism and resorts some extreme measures. What’s more，Canada pays less attention on new terrorist attacks and “soft” counter-terrorism means，such as public diplomacy. However，some Canadian counter-terrorism ideas can improve Chinese counter-terrorism strategy.
