Sichuan province is at the high-speed of development process of industrialization and urbanization，the gap between energy supply and energy needs is huge. The energy supply of Sichuan Province is featured with abundant renewable energy while lacking of carbon-based energy. The theme report analyzed the energy conservation and emission reduction situation in Sichuan Province during 12th Five Year Plan；explained the main supply and composition of energy；the support offered by Provincial government towards energy conservation and environment protection industry；advised possible direction for renewable energy development. The report also introduced the successful experiences in the United States to develop unconventional oil and gas at the last part，which may bring inspiration and lessons to the shale gas development in Sichuan Province.
