The examination of and supervision over government budgets and final accounts is an important function given by the Constitution and laws to the people’s congresses at various levels and their standing committees. In recent years，the people’s congresses at various levels in Sichuan Province have continuously improved the relevant mechanisms，carried out budgetary examination and supervision in accordance with law，and raised the efficiency of their examination and supervision work. This report reviews the experience gained by the people’s congresses in Sichuan Province in the work of budgetary examination and supervision，tries to identify the difficulties and problems existing in such work，and puts forward suggestions on further improving this work and other work related to ruling the province by law under the new situation，with a view to providing reference to those who are engaged in the relevant research and decision-making work.
