四川省民族地区城镇化水平和质量不断提高，但城镇化水平仍然较低，产业支撑作用有限，基础设施建设滞后，城镇体系结构不合理。应加快重大交通设施建设和生态环境建设，重视发展特色生态产业，创新发展新型工业，增强城镇化可持续发展动力。
<<The level and quality in Sichuan ethnic areas kept increasing in recent years. But the urbanization rate is only about 30% by 2013，which is not only far lower than developed areas，but also lower than the average Sichuan level 15 percent. The main problems are that the low industry level，the lag of infrastructure and the unreasonable city system.
