Dalian，Shenyang，Changchun and Harbin，are the four major urban centers in northeast China，to achieve the renaissance and the rise of the northeastern region，the role of these four urban centers are worth focusing analyzed and discussed. In order to relatively objectively present four central city images in the general public，a “random telephone number dialing”（RDD）sampling method was used. Respondents from 36 different cities were invited to evaluate the four central city images，which involved six dimensions cut from an ecological，economic image，cultural image，image of the government and the residents living image of the city’s image. Survey results show that respondent’s indicators of Dalian was the highest rate，while Shenyang，Changchun image of the overall evaluation is relatively low. Through further analysis，we found four major urban centers should develop according to its own characteristics and advantages，to create a distinctive city card，and should play the radiation’s effect，to drive the overall development of the northeast region.
