In 2014，the social work of Sichuan Province has been developing rapidly，which had the following characteristics：（1）a series of social work-related policies have been accelerated；（2）the construction intensity of social work qualified personnel has been strengthened；（3）the practice of social work services has been expanded，the social work on disaster has been developed greatly，and the effectiveness of social work services has been more obvious；（4）the volunteer service has achieved preliminary effectiveness，but there are already some problems，such as the highlighted institutional obstacles；the limited social awareness；the misunderstanding between community work and social work；Uneven development of social work；the irrational talent structure；the small and unstable social work settings resulting in social work hard to achieve professional and specialized purposes；the remaining evaluation mechanisms and assessment methods to be improved. The self-centered interest of individual local governments and their departments，“self-purchasing，self-servicing，outsiders cannot benefit”. Therefore，the strategy of further development of social work in Sichuan is：first，the organization and leadership of social work professionals and social construction should be strengthened，and the management mechanism should be improved；second，the project evaluation mechanisms should be strengthened to promote the project assessment to be scientific and standardized；third，the social work service quality should be strengthened for brand-building of social work；fourth，the development of social service organizations should be appropriately controlled，and the government should actively introduce the policy to support the outstanding social institutions bigger and stronger；Fifth，he theory research of social work should be strengthened to promote social work practice；Sixth，the social work settings should be normalized and the talent mechanisms should be established scientifically. Seventh，the government purchase of social work services should further increase in public expenditure to expand the public services.
