In 2013 and the first seven months of 2014，Hong Kong’s tourism industry generally kept a stable development situation. Tourists to Hong Kong and their consumption both grew，short-distance market maintained steady，long-distance market did not perform well，the newly-arisen market achieved a rapid development，and the mainland continued to be Hong Kong’s largest source of tourists. Positive and restrictive factors affecting the development of Hong Kong’s tourism industry coexisted. A number of central government policies benefiting Hong Kong’s tourism development including Individual Visit Policy continued to play an important role. The limited reception capacity has become a shackle to Hong Kong’s tourism development. Travel conflicts influenced the tourism exchange between the mainland and Hong Kong，and the politicized tendency of people’s livelihood issues led to the deterioration of Hong Kong’s tourist consumption environment. It is expected that Hong Kong’s tourism will maintain a steady development in 2014 and 2015.
