Shanxi Lu’an Mining （Group）’s 160000-ton-per-year coal-based synthetic oil project is a national model project which was initiated after winning the bid from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005，and was put into trial operation at the end of 2008. This report briefly introduces the model project and its process. Based on the summary of the results achieved，it puts forward ideas，policy demands and recommendations for further development.
