From the perspective of time，the competitiveness of China’s chemical industry is increasingly enhanced;compared with other international countries，there is still a certain gap between the chemical industry of our country and major developed countries，but the gap is shrinking. On one hand，government has some policies to promote the chemical industrial development and competitiveness，on the other hand，some system and policies impede innovation capability and competitiveness of the chemical industry. The future direction is further to reform and open up and innovation，the development of new chemical materials，reducing carbon emissions，to enhance the competitiveness of the chemical industry.
