This paper researches into the changes of strengths and structure of the overseas Chinese fortunes，and analyses their fortune growth differences by countries or regions sources and by industries sources. The following are main results from this study：1） the regional distributions of the overseas Chinese fortunes have shown an obvious change，and an important change is that total fortunes of the ethnic Chinese in Hong Kong & Taiwan and in the rest regions have surpassed total fortunes of the ethnic Chinese in ASEAN countries，and the ethic Chinese fortunes in USA have displayed a marked strengthen；2） the industrial source structure of the overseas Chinese fortunes also have shown an obvious change，and a significant change is that ethnic Chinese fortune shares from hi-tech industries and commerce & trade services and consumer goods manufacturing industries have had a clear increase，while those shares from finance services adheavy-and-chemical industries have had a marked decline；3） the diversify and internationalized fortune sources have played a positive role in turning risks of fortune reduction from fluctuations of exchange rate and economic growth；4） the pressures from succession of Chinese family enterprises have made a major challenge to sustainable growth of overseas Chinese fortunes.
