<<Against the background of fierce competition among global talent, studying overseas(including degree-seeking and academic exchange)has become a fashion. With a rapidly increasing number of students studying abroad, such a trend has occurred as a result of economic growth and wealth accumulation that enable people to either self-fund or win government sponsorship for studying abroad,as well as the strenuous efforts by destination states to accelerate the process of higher education internationalization and meanwhile to increase revenue of their education industry. The combination of“supply”and“demand”have resulted in constant changes in the models of overseas studies and the experiences of international students in the past two decades. Based on the individual case studies on Chinese students studying in the US state universities and colleges, this part mainly focuses on the experiences of Chinese students in the US. We will summarize the results in the conclusion part to propose suggestions for the government as well as students and parents with the intention to study abroad.
