This report reveals the satisfaction of the basic public service of major cities in China after an system assessment and comparative study of local public service situation in 38 major cities （including Municipalities\Provincial Capitals\Special Economic Zones and Cities Specifically Designated in the State Plan），by researching the changes of annual data between 2014 and 2013，in accordance with the evaluation index system of local government’s ability of basic public service. A comparative analysis based on the assessment of the situation about the satisfaction of basic public services in different types of cities and different criteria is also included. From the overall，the evaluation score of Eastern cities on the satisfaction of basic public services are higher than that of the central and western cities，and the average score of basic public service satisfactoriness of the municipalities is the highest among four types of cities which are involved with this assessment，while the average satisfaction score of cities specifically designated in the state plan takes the second place. The overall satisfaction scores of four special economic zones and 27 provincial capitals are relatively low.
