China and Canada are the major energy producing countries. The difference is that，at present，China is the world’s largest energy consumer and second-largest oil net importer，while Canada is the world’s leading net exporter of natural gas and oil. Energy security is a priority for China in terms of security of supply，and for Canada to protect the smooth export volume and price. In recent years，the economic crisis，shale gas development and utilization and increase self-sufficiency rate in the United States，that situation would give or has given a great impact on the Canada which energy main export to U.S. But，it is also for the Canadian energy exports diversification and energy cooperation between China and Canada to provide an opportunity. The article examined in the Canadian energy security from the political，economic，resource，technical，institutional，transportation，military，policy and other factors，above factors for the 12 quantitative indicators. The author measured the 2000～2012 Sino-Canadian energy security situations，on this basis addressed recommendations in the future prospects for energy cooperation between China and Canada.
