This study makes an exploratory study on a group of second-year junior high school students’ （N=69） using QQ profile images and photos for self presentation. The study tries to explain the strategies used to present self by images，and the meanings given to them. By analyzing open-ended questions，the study intends to learn from a user-defined perspective about why they use images in different ways，how they live in an age of internet. Also，the paper tries to find out how previous theories，such as Goffman’s self presentation theory，still show strengths in current days.
