In the age of information explosion，internet，as a important way for interpersonal communication，has become a indispensible part of our daily life. This article centers on the comparison and contrast between minors and their parents on internet usage and attitudes. It reveals that both minors and their parents have a higher ratio of internet usage. Internet use preferences of minors are mainly for interactive entertainment while their parents’ are not. Tendency of linking with real world can be seen in both the minors and their parents’ preferences of online social networking，while the social mediums in use differ. In terms of attitudes towards internet，both minors and their parents tend to have the prudent attitudes of being rational and value-oriented. In most families，it has existed that parents seek guidance from their children，which is seen as the phenomena of anti-solicitation. Analysis showed that roles and needs are the incentives for minors and their parents to update social concepts and social norms in using and learning the internet；reference and practice is the way for seeking self identification on the internet. Accordingly，suggestions are given on the aspects of encouraging minors to learn using internet，on enhancing parents’ literacy of internet mediums and technology，and on building a healthy，exclusive management platform for minors.
