As the fundamental social security scheme for the urban and rural residents，the sustainability of health insurance fund is crucial for both working groups and the unemployed. As the starting point to the sustainability of social health insurance fund of Guangzhou，the paper examines explicate the health insurance system in Guangzhou in terms of policies，implications as well as problems within the health insurance scheme. By analyzing the existent scheme and conditions，the authors study the sustainable development for social health insurance fund. Its suggestions can help improve the development of the whole health care system Guangzhou.
