People’s livelihood is the key of national development and social management in the current stage，and public opinion on citizens’ livelihood issues can provide effective reference for the government. The Social Survey Center of Public Opinion Research Laboratory of Shanghai Jiaotong University conducted a social public opinion investigation of residents from 36 cities in China. The results show that respondents pay highest attention on safety issues，and more than 70 percent of respondents are concerned about social security，environment pollution，and territorial security issues；while they pay the lowest attention to the policy issues. Respondents are mostly satisfied with the anti-corruption work by the government，on the contrary，the satisfaction of real-estate price is the lowest. Respondents are more satisfied with the central government than local governments. Over 60 percent of respondents are optimistic about the future of anti-corruption work and over 60 percent of respondents believe that the real-estate price is on the rise. More than half of the respondents believe that“coping with daily living expenses” is easy，but“repaying consumer loan on time” is the more difficult. Respondents think it is a good time to buy appliances，but not a good time to buy stocks.
