Under the guidance of last round of comprehensive transportation planning,Guangzhou has achieved urban expansion outward under the support of transport first development,and also has created a world-class urban traffic environment with limited investment to make the 16th Asian Games a success.In the new historical starting point,taking "National Central City" and "Low-carbon,Wisdom,Happiness New Guangzhou" as the overall goal,this paper analyzed main challenges facing transportation development in the next decade,and predicted uncontrollable factors on the impact of the implementation of the program accurately by performance analysis,and put forward optimization ideas of urban transportation development in future.Guangzhou's practice shows that a comprehensive transportation planning adapting to the city's own development characteristics can play a leading and guiding role to ease big city's traffic congestion. <<
