The Parliamentary and Presidential elections were held in Montenegro in October 2012 and April 2013 respectively and resulted in the winning of the Democratic Party of Socialist. The political situation in Montenegro was relatively stable，however，the high-level corruption impacted negatively the accession process. In spite of the growth of GDP in 2013，both the inflation and trade deficit remained at a high level and external debt was large. The practical cooperation between China and Montenegro in 2013 was further enhanced.
