Relations between Africa and the big powers continued to develop in-depth in 2012. On one hand，following the Western powers’ political and military intervention to African countries in 2011，the tendency of “spillovers” of the turmoil factors originally occurred in specific countries such as Libya has been emerging in other African countries；on the other hand，the United States，the European Union and other Western countries or groups of countries continue to push forward in many aspects their political，economic，and military influence in Africa，and their relationship with Africa has further developed comprehensively. At the same time，relations between and the emerging powers and Africa，within the framework of “BRICS”，have also presented a new momentum of development. Overall，the relations between Africa and the big powers in 2012 have been in diversified development. It is conducive to the healthy development of the relations between big powers in future for the emerging powers to promote Africa’s development.
