In 2008，the total amount of educational fund kept increasing，but with a smaller growth rate compared with last year. There exists a huge gap in educational input among provinces （autonomous regions/municipalities） due to the difference in economic development. In general，the input for basic education continues to rise，but with a reducing speed. As for higher education，the increase in input is gaining speed. However，some of the provinces failed to meet the input growth requirement regulated in law.
